Celebrate it folks!! I am here, actually alive and saying “cheers!” Its be a crazy tornado of a life I have been flying around in since St. Patrick’s day. My blog is about my travels and I’ve been in Miami so long I feel like I haven’t been traveling. But really! I have! I have gone to New York twice, my best friend came to Miami and I even drove from NYC to MIA in less than 48 hours!

There is so much to tell you; this is going to take a while…. I’ll start it after brunch….

NOTHING HAS CHANGED

Here we are salivating once again at the thought of consuming delights. Times like these I wish I had a kitchen. Now it’s only 5, 4 , three days until the glorious moments I step on the Isle of Manhattan and I can’t think of a better way to get excited that to eat. These are our childhoods in a (cupcake) cup. Allow me…. Remember those McDonald’s Minty Shamrock Shake Swirls? Well here they are, but at this point, you can sink you chompers into them. So grab and Irish coffee and kick back, we’re only 72 hours/beers away…

Operation Irish Adventure: Prologue

New York City at night. The Empire State caught in a raincloud.

Did I tell you the news? It’s offical. In roughly 8 days and 12, 10, 9.5, 8 hours I will be seeing these sights again. I am heading back to New York, New York for the most Irish of all celebrations. Or the most alcoholic of all Irish celebrations. Or the most celebratory of all Irish days, because we are naturally a group of hopeful pessimists. We take the bad things that happen to you and say they are good, even a blessing. We don’t bother wishing they didn’t happen because we know bad things will always happen as long as there are British (JUST KIDDING! God save Divine Right!) and we are the people who invented Murphy’s Law. See, it’s rainy in Ireland and when it rains on your Wedding Day it’s good luck even though your white dress (You have the AUDACITY to where white?!?!) is totally mud splattered; but, when you put your shoes on the table, it’s bad luck (and dirty). Can someone explain how some mud and dirt is cool and some is evil spawn?

Back to New York…. It’s Irish, it’s filled will people who are or who want to be Irish, which is fine with me because it’s the only day of the year when people try so hard to be me that they’ll drink Green Bud Light. (blag) After, NYC I’ll be trekking north to an even better more Irish city, BOSTON.

Go Sox; Screw Jeter.

Operation Irish Adventure is a go. Commencing Countdown. Engines On.

My last night to sleep in this Winter Wonderland. From white snow to white sands I ago (plus one more suitcase filled with the essentials…. Tiny tiny shorts and high heels of course!)

A true traveler can sleep, not nap but enter a deep REM, anywhere, for she values every second and wishes to not waste one in her next location jetlagged or groggy.

How to Lie to Your Mother

  • Mom: goes the weather?
  • Me: mid 80's [I'm in Connecticut]
  • Mom: Did you work last night?
  • Me: Of course! [I did no such thing, I wasn't even in Miami]
  • Mom: What are you up to now?

  • Mom: What are you doing for the day?
  • Me: [Surprising you] Going to the beach for a bit because I have yo be at work at 4. [mas lies]
  • Mom: Lucky! Ink getting my nails done
  • Me: NOOOOOO!!!! I wanted to do that! I mean I want to but I must work [close one]
  • Mom: Well we will when you come home in 15 days!
  • Me: [Muah ha ha] yeah. That's when Mom.... That's when...
